Logan's surgery

Well this is the before photo. Notice the slight swelling under the jaw line.Monday morning at 6:30 am we checked in the surgical center. We waited a bit and then Logan was taken back for the surgery. The doctor came and and asked if he had any questions. Logan had asked me several times that morning how much it would hurt. So since Logan would not ask, I did. The Doctor said not too much.
After the 1 1/2 hour surgery, the Doctor came out and told us that it was "MUCH" larger than he had anticipated. He said that Logan had stitches in the bottom of his mouth along with the ones on the neck. He said it was like the energizer bunny... it just kept on coming! He said that it took so long because the walls of the gland are very thin and they did not want to break it open. He was giving Logan pain meds of percaset (sp?)(not much pain?-- I think not).
We went over to recovery and waited for him to come out. It took awhile, they said that he had a hard time coming out of the meds. He was quite out of it. But in good spirits.
We finally came home around 1 pm. Logan went to bed. The rest of Monday and Tuesday were tough for him. Not being able to keep things down and a bit painful.
So here are the pictures of him after the surgery....

He is doing well now, and the drain tube has been removed (as of Thursday). He is really glad of that one.
